Sodium gluconate is used as an important ingredient to formulate ointments, lotions, tablets, capsules and syrups. It serves the role of an excipient during formulation of medicines meant for treating cardiac ailments, diabetes and rheumatic disorder. It also serves as an effective emulsifier and stabilizer to produce emulsions and suspensions.  Offered hygroscopic pharmaceutical chemical plays the role of buffering factor and an electrolyte replenishing agent in different medicinal formulations. Sodium gluconate appears colorless crystalline form. It easily dilutes in water and it has a slightly bitter taste. Its chemical properties remain stable and neutral in air and also in alkaline solution.
