It readily dissolves in different organic solvents that include acetone, benzene, ether and methanol. Density of this chemical is 1.044 grams/cubic centimeter. Its melting point and boiling point are -15.2 degree C and 205.3 degree C respectively. As a dielectric solvent, this chemical is used as an important part in dielectrophoresis method. Its 10% concentrated form is used as a suitable local anesthetic factor. Application of this alcohol can also be noticed in the formulation of personal care products like bathing bar, skin lotions and shampoos.
